1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device's browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to the owners of the site.
2. Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our app and to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas.
3. Analytics and Performance Storage
We use anonymous product analytics to understand which features are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve brAiny. This does not rely on cookies: our analytics provider (PostHog) stores a randomly generated identifier in your browser's local storage instead.
We record coarse usage events only — for example that a quiz was completed and what score band it fell into. We do not record your name, email address, tutoring conversations, uploaded files, or the names of the topics you study. Session recording is disabled.
You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Legal → Share usage data. Turning it off stops collection immediately on that device.
4. Managing Cookies and Local Storage
Most web browsers allow some control of cookies and site data through the browser settings. However, if you choose to block essential cookies or site storage, the Service may not function correctly — you may be signed out, and preferences such as your theme and language will not persist.
5. Third-Party Services
brAiny uses Supabase for authentication and session management, which may set its own cookies to ensure secure sign-ins. PostHog provides the anonymous product analytics described in Section 3 and uses local storage rather than cookies. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of third-party service providers.
